Housing Supply Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

 

The Housing Supply Coordinator (HSC) will be supporting Ginoogaming First Nation in with implementing the Housing Acceleration Program through the approved scope of work. With the approved Initiatives and milestones, the HSC will be involved in communicating all initiatives with all stakeholders involved.

 

The HSC will ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way. This role will involve strong computer and administrative skills and will require frequent communication with the community and possible travel as well. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has an interest in working in housing and the project team efforts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the community in collecting and organizing housing documentation; Identifying and addressing community needs around the collection of housing information;
  • Assist in developing a housing database for the community;
  • Use of office equipment (computer, fax, phone, etc.…); Tracking activities, emails, aligning ‘big picture’ community goals with immediate need by remaining up to date on community reports, studies, and consultation activities. Be able to Email, text, phone calls, faxes, correspondence;
  • Guiding and supporting project development and construction timelines. For example, to assist with capital development, the coordinator will be responsible for identifying the lead times for construction schedules, material deliveries and be the point of contact for contractors on-site.
  • Providing status updates on community progress; Improving communications between staff, leadership by liaising between departments
  • Coordinate community engagements, ensuring communications/engagement between Band and Ginoogaming First Nation community by working with Ginoogaming’s Housing Department, Chief & Council, Tribal Council, and etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • The coordinator will be hired according to existing Ginoogaming First Nation human resources policy and hiring process, and will report to Ginoogaming’s Housing Department Manager

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aboriginal youth.
  • Between the ages of 15 and 30.
  • Must not be otherwise employed throughout the internship.
  • Not receiving Employment Insurance benefits or agree to discontinue the benefits before the start of the internship.
