Summary

Ginoogaming First Nation is currently seeking a compassionate and caring Student Support Worker to join our team. This role is focused on supporting students’ academic and emotional well-being in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include monitoring attendance, helping students stay on track with assignments and goals, and communicating with staff and caregivers to ensure student success. The Student Support Worker will also collaborate closely with mental health staff, make referrals to outside agencies, and provide ongoing support through daily check-ins and afterschool programs.

 

Requirements

  • Background in education, social work, or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
  • Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments, needs, and expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to think critically and find creative solutions to student challenges.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
